TOUR OVERVIEW
Have you been wracking your brains trying to decide whether to visit the famous Pamir Highway in Tajikistan, the beautiful Silk Road cities and devastating Aral Sea in Uzbekistan, or Kazakhstan, the ninth biggest country in the world? Well, wrack no more – this tour is your chance to visit them all!
Beginning with the magical Pamir Highway, which follows the Afghan border for a while, through the Wakhan Corridor, we’ll then cross the border into Uzbekistan and not only re-enter civilisation, but get a chance to explore ancient civilisations, in the old cities of Samarqand, Bukhara and Khiva. Heading into Karakalpakstan, we’ll make a stop in Nukus before heading out to the Aral Sea, one of the most confronting and devastating man-made environmental disasters that the world is dealing with. From there we’ll take a flight to Tashkent, which is often skipped in tours, but actually has loads to offer, and finally we’ll cross into Kazakhstan. Winding our way through the rarely visited Southern part of the country, we’ll show you some quintessentially SAIGA spots, and eventually we’ll end up in the Soviet-built, but surprisingly trendy city of Almaty.
