Celebrate 2026-2027 New Year with us in Venezuela's vibrant capital, Caracas
Spend a night watching the most spectacular lightning show
Swim in the thundrous Angel Falls
We'll start our tour today by exploring Venezuela’s vibrant capital, Caracas.
Here we will visit the mausoleum of Hugo Chavez and the 23 de Enero neighbourhood, famous for being the heartland of Venezuela’s independence movement and for its modernist buildings.
Afterwards we will venture into the San Augostin Barrio, which is famous for its street art. We may even have a chance to sample some local Venezuelan arepas on the way!
Overnight in Caracas.
Today we will continue exploring some more of Caracas. Many places will be closed in preparation for the New Year’s Eve celebrations, however there will be a great atmosphere in the city while people are preparing for tonight's festivities and celebrations.
In the evening, we will head to the Altamira, a huge outdoor area where they will have lively performances and an elaborate set up for the New Year’s celebrations.
We'll bring in the New Year here, with a midnight fireworks display to mark the event.
Today we will have a slow, relaxing morning, with some free time to go and get lunch before heading to the airport for our evening flight to Puerto Ordaz the gateway to Canaima National Park.
Arrival in Puerto Ordaz and transfer to our hotel.
Overnight in Puerto Ordaz.
Today we will embark on a half-day hike to the base of Angel Falls.
Once we arrive we can reward ourselves with a swim at the base, and we'll spend some time here taking in the spectacular waterfall.
Afterwards, we will head onto a remote village where we will meet some of the region’s indigenous peoples.
Tonight, we will stay in a village in hammocks.
In the morning, we will take another boat trip back to Cainama, past the spectacular Hacha Falls.
When we arrive at the Cainama Lagoon we will also have the opportunity to go for another refreshing dip.
Over in this area we will visit another epic waterfall - the thunderous Shapo Falls, which are deafening to be near and will also most certainly get you soaked!
In the afternoon, we will check into a local hotel in the town of Cainama. We will then have the rest of the day to explore the town.

Today we will catch a domestic flight to El Vigia. Once we arrive we will transfer to a small village on the shores of Lake Maracaibo.
Arriving in Ologa on the lake, this is the perfect place for us to see the Catatumbo lightning effect.
We will spend the night in hammocks, watching the lightning over the lake.
Overnight in Ologa.
In the morning we will head to the city of Merida, known as the capital of the Venezuelan Andes.
On our way we will stop at a traditional village built on stilts.
When in Merida we have the option to take the world’s highest and second longest cable car which will give us amazing views of the Andes. You will want to bring a jacket for this part, as we will be reaching an altitude of over 4,500m above sea level!
