When you arrive at the embassy you will need to walk through the first building, through the courtyard to a second building with the visa sign.

You will be directed to the visa office. After a brief chat, you’ll then be directed to the application section. You will need to queue and will then be asked to sit. Here a consulate staff member will type up your application for you. This process costs 50AED. After he is finished, he will print the form for you and direct you back to the original visa office.

A few more questions will follow, and you’ll then be asked to make payment. The visa is now a flat rate of $130USD. You can pay this in AED, USD or by card.

After payment you will be asked to wait up to 40 minutes, however, in most cases it will only take between 10 and 15 minutes, before you are handed back your passport with your Afghanistan visa.
