Where is Togo?
Togo is located in the heart of West Africa bordering Benin to the east, Ghana to the west and Burkina Faso to the north.
Lomé
Lomé is the largest city and capital of Togo being home to just over 2 million people. This is the country’s main economic hub and is the main port of call for travellers coming into the country.
Kara
Kara is the capital of the Kara region in the north of the country roughly 400km north of the capital Lomé. It is the second most affluent city in the country and is home to just under 100,000 people. Kara is known for the Kara river, vibrant outdoor markets and its proximity to the Koutammakou UNESCO world heritage site.
Sokodé
Sokodé is located in the central region of Togo and is the second largest city in the country with just under 200,000 people. 70% of the population here is Muslim making it the most Islamic city in the country.
Kpalimé
Kpalimé is the 4 th largest city in the country located in the plateau region. The hilly surrounding areas are rich in coffee and cocoa and are popular for hiking. The forest nearby known as Missahohé is famous for its butterflies.
