TOUR OVERVIEW
SAIGA Tours is extremely proud to be able to offer this incredible and historic event. It's not something that we would have imagined saying, but we've teamed up with the Taliban, as controversial as that may sound, to get the Kabul Marathon up and running, and are super excited to be able to open this up to the public - both foreigners and local Afghans alike.
We won't be publicising the location of the marathon itself for security purposes, but there will be the option to run a full marathon, a half marathon or a shorter 5km or 10km. Or if you want to come and see what it's all about, but don't fancy a run, of course spectators are also welcome.
We've overcome many hurdles in order to be able to make this happen, but unfortunately (though not unexpectedly of course!) there are some restrictions in place. This is taking place in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan after all! And as such, only males will be able to participate in the marathon for the moment. Of course females are more than welcome to join us on the tour and as spectators, but won't be able to compete as runners.
Our hope is that this will be a great way to bring foreigners and Afghans together in a postive way, and will be a really unique and special opportunty for all of us to engage.

The main focus of this tour is of course the marathon, however we're well aware that some people would like to visit Bamyan while you're already in Afghanistan, so we've added a slightly longer version of this tour which also includes a visit to Bamyan.
