TOUR OVERVIEW
We'll begin this tour in Kyrgyzstan's capital city - Bishkek. Linking up with the
Nomad Games Tour
, we'll make our way through the famously spectacular countryside of Kyrgyzstan, we'll sleep in yurts, wind through spectacular canyons and valleys, and explore some abandoned Soviet gems.
We'll cross the land border into Kazakhstan where we'll visit Almaty and the surrounds, and then hop on a flight down to Dushanbe in Tajikistan. From here we'll wind our way through the Fann Mountains in Tajikistan, spending a night at the difficult-to-describe Soviet-era sanatorium of Khoja Obi Garm. We'll visit Iskanderkul Lake and Khujand, and then cross the land border into Uzbekistan, where we'll do a few SAIGA favourites, including the world's second largest solar furnace and a Soviet mountain resort town. We'll make stops in Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara, and will eventually make it to the Turkmen land border.
Crossing into Turkmenistan, we'll fly on Turkmenistan Airlines to join up with the
Turkmenistan Independence Day Whirlwind Tour
, taking in the magic of Ashgabat, followed by the mind-blowing Gates of Hell, and a trip to the west of the country.
